First order of business, I would like Blake Lively to play me in the Lifetime Movie adaption of my world famous book (NOT Kate Gosselin).
Second order of business, no, this is not an announcement that I am planning to turn my uterus into a clown car and have 700 babies. That's crazy.
I am planning to write a book - a world famous book ! - which will later involve Blake Lively.
Now, I need some tips, I recognize some of you are authors and/or just geniuses about how the world works. Sending book proposals? Getting published? Who do I have to sleep with to get an editor? Spill, please, people and share your hints.
And then tell me what a great idea this is! So much better than Kate's vow renewal ... which I may or may not have watched ...

ha ha ha! This is great.... I think Blake Lively is a perfect choice to play you! =)
You should, I would buy it! Have you read Jen Lancaster's books? She made me want to write a book but I am not as interesting as some would hope!
Sorry I don't have any tips!
I love Blake Lively, she would be perfect!
If someone were to play me in a movie, I would want it to be someone that is just as sexy as I am, Jessica Biel. We look alike, right?!?! Ha!
Wow this is awesome!
I cant wait to read your book!
I think your writing a book is a GREAT idea. I'll buy it -- Promise!!
In case your questions were serious ones: Do you want to self-publish? http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A45761-2004Sep23.html
Not walking the vanity publishing route? I thought http://www.ehow.com/how_2716_find-literary-agent.html was helpful in a general sense.
In case you weren't serious: Please write it! Please write it!! Please write it!! Please... please... please... please!!!
First of all, YES, get going writing a book, you brilliant woman!
Second, can Blake Lively play me in the story of my life too? The casting is complete in my mind and it would really screw up her schedule to cancel on her.
Thanks.
Jen Lancaster wrote a post about publishing ... for a laugh, read the first part ... then scroll down to the bottom for the real advice. Good luck!

Rita Arens compiled and edited a book and has also offered advice on her blog:

Rita also publishes some shorts on Kindle and is working on a novel.
At a local chain store that we visit frequently, near the children's books where our kids spend time, there is a discount rack with the Gosselin's mushy gushy tribute to family--obviously written in happier times.
Needless to say they can't discount the title enough to move it.
You totally should do it. I have no advice to give you on how, but you are one smart momma, you'll figure it out. If there was ever a movie about me, I think Marge Simpson would play me well.
There was a great article in O! Oprah Magazine about a year ago on how to write your memoir. It was very interesting. Perhaps you can look at archives and come across it. Looking forward to reading the book.
wow, best of luck with your new book! i think it'll be awesome. :)
Thanks for stopping by my blog.
Well, I have just spent a little time on yours reading old posts and girl...you make me laugh. I am totally thinking that body sculpting with mashed potatoes sounds incredible. Then the sculptor can just go away and leave me with a pot of gravy and a fork or spoon ;) mmmmm.
I think that writing a book is a good thing and I hope you can find some tools to help you and/or someone who can help you that you don't have to sleep with.
I hope you have a wonderful weekend! Happy Valentine's Day.
Kristine
You GO, girl! I've TOTALLY got your back!!!
DO IT!!!!!!
I wish I had some good writing/publishing advice for you... I got nadda. But when you find out, please share. Someday I hope to actually get down to business on my own book. I've been doing research on it for over a year. I probably should cut down on my blog-stalking and get to work on it.
..nahhhhhhh.
Anyway, I'm already in line to buy your book, funny lady!
