Lately, I have been searching for the meaning of life and trying to find some purpose in it all. This has involved reading a lot of self-help books about how to simplify. Which has resulted in looking for space in our too-cluttered townhouse for a clear area in which to house the self-help books about how to simplify. Which has resulted in me feeling like our townhouse needs to be cleaned and packed up and dusted and replaced, and that the walls are closing in by the second. Which has resulted in me feeling like if we are going to pack up, declutter, dust, replace, and break out walls, we might as well move. Which has resulted in me looking for a smaller - but newer - place in a better school district and trying to convince Jeff to get on board with it. Which has resulted in me finding this house - six bedrooms, four baths, pool - and whining incessantly that we need to move into it right now, if not sooner.
So, I think I have figured out my purpose in life: It is to buy things.
Along this vein, Internet, I need your support. I think my husband should agree to move here. Because I have a bandage on my nose and have not slept in two years. I have promised to give up TV, lattes, my car, the gym, dry-cleaning, eating until 2014, wrinkle cream, and wearing clothes.
Oh, and self help books. Those too.

I also exist to buy things but I do not think any house is worth giving up tv. TV? S'rsly?
You are fantastic writer. I fully support this move, especially if it has a spare room for an office where you could write a book. I do not support your idea to give up lattes. ARE YOU CRAZY? xo Associate Girl
I'm the exact opposite, I want a smaller house and to get rid of all our stuff. I'm tired of taking care of so much.
I don't mind taking care of my stuff. It's taking care of EVERYBODY ELSE'S stuff that bothers me. While I realize that my powers are beyond their comprehension, I don't know where my daughter put her iPod or where my son's math book is (though I could make a good guess as to where he put it) or where my husband left the pruners, nor do I have any intention of taking care of the dog's "stuff" at 3 a.m. when he decides he has to put it somewhere.
I don't think you should have to give up ANYTHING; you won the point with the bandage and no sleep.
You are my new mentor
I hope you didn't put internet on the list of things you will give up! We would miss you.
Wait a minute - I thought we were going to buy condos next to each other in ML, the ones w/ elevators?
Now you want a house??
But you can come over & watch my TV and I'll make you lattes!
