Ultraviolet

Anyone else find it ironic that I just slathered myself with SPF 70 and put on a sunhat to go sit in the shade at the pool at 5 pm on a cloudy day when this is what my skin looked like all summer long a mere decade ago?

Nope. Me neither.

We evolved on this planet...dont fear the sun - it provides protection from so many ailments and diseases. Ever wonder why so many people suffer from severe vitamin D deficiencies?

Yeah...my skin had just a dose too much freshman year (got stuck in the middle of Smith Mountain Lake in a canoe with no paddle in the middle of 101 degree day) and since then...has never been the same. I can slather on SPF one million and ten and still burn in 10 minutes.

That's ok...we know better...we do better!

You're talking to the Queen of Pasty White, Empress of Burn & Blister, and Seeker of Shade and Shadow. If my shower is too hot, I reactivate Bathing Suit Lines of Demarcation of old Wars with the Sun.

I'm waiting for pale to come back into fashion. That, and being Rubenesque.

I hear you ...

Before I was never without a tan. I do however apply lots of SPF now... especially on my face.

Great picture!!! I hope you venture out from under the sun umbrella and get even a little glow.

I'm finally sporting a tan after 3 1/2 years.
and it has made me feel a little better. moderation and SPF I think is key... HHL

Thanks for sending the good thoughts to Sandi, now as far as the picture...We put on baby oil to lay out way back when. Now my tan lines are around my ankles, thighs and a nice racer stripe down my back. The only sun I get is when I am running.

Then I wanted a tan, now I worry about wrinkles....Oil of Olay :)

How's the book coming?

I can relate. I think we are still looking for the SPF that makes us invisible after application.
