The good thing about having short-term memory issues is that when you pick out Mother's Day gifts for yourself, you are still super-excited to unwrap them.

I got a totally unexpected drawing from my daughter and a camera from my husband! Also, when we were seated at Arizona Pizza for an early dinner, we discovered we weren't in Arizona Pizza -- a bit Twilight Zone-ish, but we returned home none the worse for wear.
