Patience
Eavesdropping
at coffee shop on a three-year-old boy asking copious questions.
"Why
can't I touch that?" (It's very, very old and if too many people touch
it, it will break.)
"Why do they use chocolate?' (Because it's yummy and
many people like the flavor.)
"Caramel vanilla and cream makes orange?"
(Not quite, but there is an orange flavored coffee.)
"It's melting!
Why is it melting?" (Hot chocolate is hot, whipped cream is cold, that
is why it melts. When hot things touch cold things, they melt.)
"Why
can't I drink coffee?" (Children drink hot chocolate, not coffee. When
you are an adult, you can drink hot coffee.)
And so on and so forth.
I had to look up to see the uber-mom who was responding to all of these
questions with exquisite patience and well-thought out answers.
Ah, yes
... she's the nanny. Makes sense now.
