As I put on my purple today, I am reminded of my Grandpa Charles (Ethan's middle namesake), who played pro football in New York from 1925-1929, back when the uniform consisted of leather helmets and shoulder pads that tied on. I think he got paid $25 a season. I just heard Ethan bragging to a neighbor that "his great grandpa was the best football player EVER -- better than Johnny Unitas, even." Not sure if that is true, but you have to appreciate the family loyalty.
