I wanted to do something to acknowledge 9/11 with Ethan in an age-appropriate way. We decided to bring cookies to the local firehouse to say thank you. At the station, the paramedic that greeted us was the one who was on call two years ago, during a severe allergic reaction that required 9-1-1 and an ambulance ride to the hospital. She recognized Ethan and hugged him! She thanked him for the cookies, I thanked her for saving his life.
One hour later, I am still misty.

Aren't emergency service providers the best?!
Glad to see a post from you -- Hope all is well with your new venture and every little thing!
How emotional. What a wonderful experience for him, though...teaching him to do things like that at an early will benefit him in the future!

Of course you are... anyone with a heart as big as yours would be! Great gift to give Ethan - how to say 'Thank you!"
